To my darling readers on my one-year blogiversary,
I am so grateful for every one of you. A lot of you are friends, many of you I’m getting to know through social media, and some of you grace me with your presence like a breeze in the night, but I adore you just the same.
Until I hit publish on my first post, this blog was just a figment of my imagination, a labor of love created by sleepless nights and endless emails. Now, my little corner of the internet is something I’m really proud of, an endeavor I seek God on continuously, and the means by which I get to be a part of all of your lives.
It is with this blog I honor my Grandma — the beautiful, witty, selfless woman she was — and my Grandpa — a hardworking, humorous, teacher of many things — both of whom encouraged me to write, and my mom and dad who gave me the freedom to dream big.
Over the last year, you all have been with me as I found my voice and set out to live an intentional life, and together we learned a thing or two about integrity, prioritizing, and self-love. You walked with me as I figured out what “home” really means, dealt with anxiety about the future, and finally realized I am enough. And maybe from that you realized you are, too.
When my lost sunglasses led to an awakening, there you were, and when I was stuck in that blank space you let me know I wasn’t the only one. Together we figured out the importance of letting go when stepping into a new season. We even got into some #realtalk when it came to social media, politics, and holidays that are lonely.
That’s not including all the books, recipes, tips and lists along the way. It has been a good year, a full year, one of the most creatively fulfilling and purposeful years I can remember. And it is all in thanks to you without whom this blog would be nothing.
As we move into 2018, I want to do so with intention (shocker, I know). My goal is to be consistent, authentic, and outward focused. And I want to genuinely connect with as many of you as I can.
For as much as we “know” each other online, scrolling through profiles or watching IG stories, reading curated captions on filtered photos, it takes much more effort to get beneath the surface to that place of genuine connection. You know, the nitty-gritty — where our hopes, dreams, goals, struggles, faith, and fears dwell.
All of that stuff matters. All of it affects all of us. And if we’re going to spend the majority of our lives “plugged in”, we may as well be plugged into each other while we’re at it. It’s for exactly this purpose that I’m launching a new community, which I would love for you to join, and beyond that, I’m going to make it a point this year to try to get to know you better.
With that said, please let me know if there’s any topic you’d like me to write about, any questions on your mind, or subjects you’d like covered. You can leave me a comment below, DM me on IG, or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or you can just drop a note and introduce yourself, I would love to hear from you.
I have some really big plans for love lulu this year, all of which include you. A lot of thought is going into the content for this year, and while there will be a few changes, fun surprises, and additions, my hope is that it will continue to be a place that inspires, encourages, and somehow lets you know you’re not alone.
Thank you for being a part of my journey, and for letting me be a part of yours. Looking forward to all that’s to come.
